O’Young to drive VIP Jaguar car in Hong Kong

Darryl O’Young has been confirmed as the guest driver in the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy for the upcoming round in Hong Kong.

The Canadian-born driver will be the third driver of the VIP car after Alice Powell in Saudi Arabia and Salvador Duran in Mexico City.

O’Young has a wealth of experience in sportscar racing as well as on the streets of Macau, but it will be O’Young’s first time in the Formula E paddock.

Despite this, O’Young says he is looking forward to racing on home soil saying: “To race on the streets of Hong Kong is something I didn’t think would ever be possible, especially driving an electric race car.

“To accomplish these two things together in one race weekend is very special.

“I’ve followed the first couple of races of the Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy in Saudi Arabia and Mexico, and the series certainly has strong competition.

“I am really looking forward to getting behind the wheel.”

Katherine Legge currently leads the championship by a point from Simon Evans, Sergio Jimenez and Bryan Sellers whilst Bandar Alesayi leads the Pro-Am Class.
