Buemi on pole for Nissan in Berlin

Sebastien Buemi will be on pole position for Nissan e.dams ahead of the Berlin E-Prix.

The Swiss driver was the fastest of anyone in the first and third sectors of the lap and consequently set a 1m07.295 to secure his second Julius Baer pole position award of the season.

Stoffel Vandoorne will be second on the grid for HWA Racelab after a slightly messy final sector ahead of Lucas di Grassi for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler, with the Brazillian driver setting the fastest time in the second sector.

Garry Paffett was an impressive fourth for HWA after a very tidy lap ahead of Jaguar Racing’s Alex Lynn and Alex Sims rounded out the top six for BMW i Andretti Motorsport.

Daniel Abt narrowly missed out on the top six for Audi and directly behind him will be the second BMW of Antonio Felix da Costa and DS Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne and Mahindra’s Jerome d’Ambrosio rounded out the top 10.

Pascal Wehrlein will be eleventh in the other Mahindra ahead of Oliver Rowland for Nissan e.dams, Sam Bird in the first of the Envision Virgin entries and Oliver Turvey was fourteenth for NIO.

Maximillian Guenther was fifteenth for Dragon Racing ahead of Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara, Jaguar’s Mitch Evans and Tom Dillmann was eighteenth quickest for NIO.

Felipe Massa was nineteenth for Venturi after an incident-filled lap which saw a lockup on the way into Turn 6 followed by a smack of the wall on the exit of the corner and there was another brush of the wall at Turn 7 as well.

Jose Maria Lopez rounded out the top-20 in the other Dragon Racing entry and Robin Frijns was twenty-first for in the second of the Envision Virgin entries after Frijns said that he had issues on his 250kw lap.

Andre Lotterer will be rounding out the field after a mistake led to him crossing the line just after the checkered flag was waved, meaning that he only set a lap at 200kw.
