Why we support Racing Pride

Here at Just Electric, we don’t think anything should be a barrier to working in motorsport.

Race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, political beliefs or physicality are just some of the things that could be used to discriminate against a person, but they shouldn’t be.

That is why we’re supporting the Racing Pride initiative to help people who are LGBTQ+ in motorsport who feel under pressure to be who they aren’t.

We believe that everyone should be able to be who they are whether they are at home, in town or at the race track and doing the thing they love. This includes drivers, PR, engineers, mechanics and spectators.

Formula E, the sport we have focussed on over the past two-and-a-half years, is a sport that is progressive both on and off the track. And being progressive is something Just Electric wants to promote through Racing Pride.

You only have to look at the stories from Hurley Haywood and Danny Watts to know there is a need for an initiative like this to support LGBTQ+ people within motorsport; to make people aware that it is okay to be yourself in the paddock.

In Pride month, and beyond, we’re proud to be supporting Racing Pride. This is not a campaign for Pride month but a long term campaign to improving inclusivity in motorsport.
