Jimenez quickest in I-PACE qualifying

Sergio Jimenez continues his championship charge with pole position for the third Jaguar I-PACE eTrophy race in Berlin.

The Jaguar Brazil driver jumped to the top of the times midway through the session with a 1m26.144s lap around the traditional Tempelhof layout, ahead of Simon Evans and Alice Powell.

Jimenez, who leads the championship fight by seven points, improved again with his final lap of the session to set a 1m25.959s lap time.

Evans also improved, but could only get within 0.039s of Jimenez’s lap time and will start this afternoon’s race from P2.

Nick Foster jumped up to third after a slow start to the session, ahead of Alice Powell and Caca Bueno.

Greg Segers and Tukuma Aoki completed the Pro class.

Fahad Algosaibi claimed his third consecutive pro-am pole, lining up eighth overall, ahead of guest driver Abbie Eaton, Adalberto Baptista and Paul Spooner.
