Da Costa flies to the top in Berlin

Antonio Felix da Costa showed why he has been the most in-form driver during Formula E’s Berlin residency by topping the timesheets in the second practice session.

The Portuguese driver set a 1:15.653 in the DS Techeetah to go ahead of Mercedes’ Nyck de Vries and Nissan’s Sebastien Buemi.

Lucas di Grassi was fourth quickest for Audi ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne in the other Mercedes and Nico Mueller in the Dragon.

Oliver Rowland set the seventh-best time for Nissan with Mahindra’s Alex Lynn, BMW’s Maximilian Guenther and Porsche’s Neel Jani rounding out the top ten.

Andre Lotterer was 11th in the other Porsche ahead of Venturi’s Edoardo Mortara, Jean-Eric Vergne’s DS Techeetah, Mahindra’s Jerome d’Ambrosio and Felipe Massa was 15th in the other Venturi.

Sergio Sette Camara finished the session in 16th ahead of the Envision Virgin pairing of Sam Bird and Robin Frijns with Daniel Abt’s NIO and Mitch Evans’ Jaguar rounding out the top-20.

Alex Sims was 21st for BMW ahead of NIO’s Oliver Turvey, Audi’s Rene Rast and the field was rounded out by Tom Blomqvist in the Jaguar.
