Kobayashi on Pole at Le Mans

Kamui Kobayashi secured pole position for Toyota ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Kobayashi, who is sharing with Jose Maria Lopez and Mike Conway, just edged out the Rebellion of Gustavo Menezes, who is sharing with Norman Nato and former Mahindra Formula E racer Bruno Senna. The other Toyota of Kazuki Nakajima, who is sharing with Sebastien Buemi and Brendon Hartley, will start third.

In the LMP2 class, Paul di Resta took pole for United Autosports ahead of the Formula E duo of Jean-Eric Vergne, driving for G-Drive Racing, and Racing Team Nederland’s Nyck de Vries.

GTE Pro class pole went to Porsche’s Gianmaria Bruni ahead of James Calado’s Ferrari, with Alex Lynn (Aston Martin) and Sam Bird (Ferrari) fourth and fifth respectively.

Of the Formula E drivers who failed to make it to Hyperpole, Antonio Felix da Costa was seventh in the LMP2 class for Jota and Tom Blomqvist was 13th in the GTE AM class.  

The race begins at 14:30 local time tomorrow.
