Andrea PerilliA set of eight races have been announced for the first part of Formula E’s seventh season, racing across three different continents in the space of five months.
The opening round of the fully-electric championship will take place in Diriyah on February 26th and 27th. The double header will be Formula E’s first night-time event.
The championship will continue on European soil, as the series will be back in Rome on April 10th. Formula E will disembark for the first time in Spain two weeks later, disputing the following round in Valencia. The announcement notes that both Rome and Valencia are subject to circuit homologation.
Next up in the championship is the prestigious circuit of Monaco. The race is set to be held on May 8th, and will be the series’ fourth time racing in the Principality.
Two weeks later, the Marrakesh E-Prix will be held at the Moulay El Hassan international circuit, now an iconic venue in the Formula E calendar.
The Santiago E-Prix, formerly announced as the season opener and later postponed, will take place on June 5th and 6th.
The series have also announced that the Paris E-Prix has been cancelled for Formula E’s seventh season, and is set to be held back again in Season 8. The official press release states that “The current health and safety considerations make the specific organisation of the prestigious Paris E-Prix around Les Invalides too complex in Season 7”.
The Sanya and Seoul races have been postponed from its previous dates –March and May respectively, and the series is set to announce in the upcoming months when those races will take place.
Due to the ongoing global COVID-19 outbreak, Formula E and the hosting cities will monitor the situation, implementing strong protocols, and ensuring a constant communication among all those working and participating in the events.
