Vandoorne loses Pole in Valencia

Stoffel Vandoorne will be starting the Valencia E-Prix from the back of the grid after failing the post-Superpole tech inspection.

Vandoorne’s Mercedes was found to have a tyre fitted which wasn’t declared in the technical passport for his car.

As a result, all of his times from qualifying and Super Pole have been deleted.

He has, however, been given dispensation to start from the back of the grid.

The penalty for the Belgian driver sees Antonio Felix da Costa starting the race from pole position, ahead of Maximillian Guenther.
