Aegerter on top in French GP FP1

Dominique Aegerter goes fastest in the first practice session ahead of MotoE’s French Grand Prix, with the top three separated by less than a tenth of a second.

While thunderstorm warnings are in place in the area surrounding Le Mans, the rain held off for the first MotoE session of the day.

Aegerter put in his quickest time of the morning late in the session, setting a 1m44.938s lap on his penultimate lap.

The time was just 0.046s quicker than Eric Granado, who dominated practice and qualifying in Spain two weeks ago.

Granado was unable to display the same quick pace he had done in Jerez, only briefly topping the times in FP1. For most of the session, it was Tech3 Racing’s Lukas Tulovic top of the order. Tulovic had gone fastest early on, and found gradual improvements throughout the session before the late improvement from Aegerter and Granado. He ended the session P3 overall, just 0.099s before Aegerter.

Early championship leader Alessandro Zaccone could only go fourth quickest, ahead of reigning champion Jordi Torres and Hikari Okubo.

Corentin Perolari picked up P7, which Mateo Ferrari, Andrea Mantovaniand Fermin Aldeguer completed the top 10.
