Tulovic fastest in Barcelona Friday practice

Lukas Tulovic topped the order during Friday practice at Catalunya ahead of the third round of the MotoE Cup.

The Tech3 E-Racing rider manaeged at time of 1m50.808s late in the second practice session to go quickest, ahead of reigning champion Jordi Torres.

Both Tulovic and Torres were quick in the opening practice session of the day, both briefly topping the order before Le Mans race winner Eric Granado went fastest.

Grandado’s 1m51.216s put him more than a tenth of a second quicker than Torres, who ended FP1 quickest.

The One Energy Racing rider’s time wouldn’t be beaten until the second half of FP2, when Tulovic lowered the benchmark to sub-1m51s.

Granado was unable to match his FP1 time in the second practice session and ended the day fourth overall, behind Yonny Hernandez.

Overall, it was a mixed FP1 session. Championship leader Alessandro Zaccone could only manage 15th quickest, which front runner Dominique Aegerter took P13.

Aegerter was able to considerably improve on his lap time in FP2, jumping up to sixth behind Fermin Aldeguer. Zaccone would end the day P8, behind early pace setter Miquel Pons.

Championship front runner Mattia Casadei had the opposite luck. He finished fifth in FP1 and, though he found improvements on his lap time, couldn’t keep up with the rate of improvement of the rest of the field and ended the day P9, while Xavi Cardelus rounded out the top 10.
