Granado takes his fourth E-Pole of the season in Assen

Eric Granado took pole position ahead of the Assen round of the Moto E championship. This is his fourth E-Pole in the season, being the sole rider to set pole position in all four events.

What looked to be a dominant weekend by Alessandro Zaccone, as the Italian had dominated all three free practice sessions, turned out to be another pole position masterclass by Granado.

The Brazilian was the penultimate rider to go out on track and set a lap time of 1m43:114s, clinching his fourth E-Pole of the season. He now has set four out of the four pole positions disputed in the 2021 edition of the championship.

Lukas Tulovic finished behind him with a 0.074 second difference. Zaccone, the last rider to do his qualifying lap, could only reach third position, as rain started to pour down during his stint which complicated his performance.

Jordi Torres and Dominique Aegerter finished in fourth and fifth position, respectively.

Matteo Ferrari, who ultimately finished in sixth place, had logged a dominant lap that had put him on provisional pole until more riders went out on their qualifying stint. Behind him were Fermin Aldeguer in seventh place, Mattia Cassadei in eighth position, and Corentin Perolari closing out the third row finishing in ninth position.
