Dubourg on top in qualifying for Andros opener

JB Dubourg kicked off the 2021-22 Andros eTrophy by topping qualifying for the DA Racing team.

The reigning champion was fastest in the first and quicker of the two main qualifying sessions, then went second fastest in Super Pole.

The combination left him with 50 qualifying points and puts him on pole for the Super Final this evening.

M Racing’s Yann Ehrlacher was quickest in the second qualifying group, but a difficult Super Pole performance drops him back down the grid for the opening race of the season.

Instead, it will be Nathaneal Berthon starting alongside Dubourg. Berthon was second quickest in the first qualifying group and third quickest in qualifying, leaving him with 44 qualifying points.

Ehrlacher slips back to third alongside Olivier Panis, who was quickest in the Super Pole session.

Aurelien Panis and Nico Prost also made it through to Super Pole.

It was a difficult qualifying session for former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean, who only managed one lap in the opening qualifying session and was 11th fastest in the second. His performance put him P13 overall, ahead of only Nicolas Baert, but with everything still to play for in the Final.

Olivier Pernaut missed out on a spot in the Super Pole, placing seventh overall, but will join the back of the Super Final grid.

Dorian Boccolacci in eighth leads the way in the Final ahead of Jeremy Sarhy, and Christophe Ferrier.
