Panis on pole for Val Thorens day two

Aurelien Panis tops qualifying in the second fay of Andros eTrophy action at Val Thorens.

The 2019-20 champion topped the times in the first qualifying session of the day with a three lap time of 2m19.421s. It was a time that wouldn’t be beaten in the second qualifying session and Panis went into Super Pole top of the order.

A stunning lap from Nathaneal Berthon, more than a second quicker than anybody else in Super Pole, denied Panis the top spot in the final qualifying session, but P2 was enough to put him on pole for this afternoon’s final.

Berthon was second quickest in the first qualifying session and will libe up third overall, behind Yann Ehrlacher, who topped qualifying 2.

Race 1 winner JB Dubourg qualified fourth ahead of Dorian Boccolacci and Christophe Ferrier.

Former Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean placed seventh overall after finishing fourth fastest in the slower of the two qualifying groups. Despite missing out on a place in the Super Pole, he will complete the grid for the Super Final.

Nico Prost will take pole for the Final after qualifying eighth overall, ahead of Olivier Panis and Olivier Pernaut.
