Nick Heidfeld joined Formula E at the first race in Beijing and was fighting for the win until a now infamous last-corner collision with Nico Prost. The German driver ended up upside down after launching off a kerb sideways but thankfully walked away.
Starting with Venturi, Heidfeld moved to Mahindra for season two and has racked up points and podiums for the team alongside team-mate Felix Rosenqvist. Mahindra finished third in the teams' championship in 2016/17.
