Techeetah to team up with manufacturer in 2018-19

Techeetah will team up with a powertrain manufacturer for the 2018-19 season.

The Chinese race team have been a Renault customer team since they joined Formula E at the start of the 2016-17 season. Their two year deal with Renault comes to an end this year.

Techeetah have been linked to DS, who are currently partnered with Virgin.

Jean-Eric Vergne, who raced with Virgin in the 2015-16 season, confirmed Techeetah will become affiliated with a manufacturer, but which manufacturer is yet to be announced.

“From season five, we’re going to have the support of an OEM,” he told Autosport.

Nine manufacturers have been confirmed for the 2018-19 season. Along with DS, Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Mahindra, Nextev NIO, Penske Autosport, Renault, and Venturi have been granted homologation for the fifth FE season, though Nissan will take over the Renault entry.
