Rosenqvist set to race in Rolex 24 At Daytona

Felix Rosenqvist keeps on proving that he is one of the most versatile drivers of his generation. The Swede is set to participate in the 2018 Rolex 24 at Daytona with 2017 Le Mans LMP2 winning squad Jackie Chan DC Racing.

This will be the Swede’s second appearance in the 24-hour race, after making his Daytona début back in 2016 with Starworks Motorsports, where he teamed up with fellow Formula E driver Maro Engel. Sebring is the only race left from the so-called “Triple Crown of Endurance Racing” for Rosenqvist to race in, as he drove in the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year.

According to Sportscar365, the Formula E race winner will be joined by Williams Formula 1 driver Lance Stroll – who also is set to make his second appearance at the Daytona International Speedway.

Spaniard Daniel Juncadella is also set to be one of the car’s four drivers. The former DTM driver tested the Mahindra Formula E car in the collective tests held in Valencia last October, and would be making his début in Daytona next January.

Robin Frijns is set to complete the car’s lineup. The Dutchman, who drove for Andretti in seasons 2 and 3 of Formula E, and has achieved large success in GT racing, is another rookie in the American race. Frijns recently came P2 in a stellar first effort in the challenging FIA GT World Cup in Macau.

The Rolex 24 – as it is commonly known – will be held in January 27th. The road course has a length of 2000 kilometres (1200 miles), and will see several cars divided into different classes, fighting for victory.
