Benyahia confirmed for Marrakesh Rookie Test

After being announced as the team’s third driver, Moroccan driver Michaël Benyahia has been confirmed by Venturi as the Monegasque team’s entry for the Marrakesh Rookie Test.

Benyahia, who attended the Hong Kong ePrix to support and have an insight into how everything works during a Formula E weekend, has already driven the car in the Valencia collective testing last October.

Now the local driver will test the car in the collective testing, which will take place on Sunday 14th January. Benyahia is the youngest driver on the entry list, which speaks a lot about his abilities behind the wheel, as he will share the track with fellow racers who drive in prestigious series around the globe.

I am delighted to offer Michaël Benyahia the opportunity to drive again, and at home too. This decision reflects my commitment to supporting Michaël in his career development“, conveyed Team President Gildo Pastor.

The Moroccan’s career is already taking off. He is the reigning Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup, has obtained success in the French Formula 4 Championship, and has an extensive and fruitful career in karting.

I’m well aware of the chance I’m being given. The Formula E championship is growing exponentially. As a result, it’s rare to get a drive. I’ll do everything I can, to repay the faith that Gildo Pastor and his teams have placed in me“, expressed the young Moroccan.

Venturi heads to Marrakesh after having its best season start, currently sitting fourth in the championship, with 30 points in the bag.
