Makowiecki and Rossiter to represent Techeetah in rookie test

Techeetah will run Fred Makowiecki and James Rossiter in the Formula E rookie test next month.

The series’ first rookie test will take place on the Sunday after the Marrakesh ePrix and will field drivers without an e-license.

Most teams have opted to field drivers new to the series, but both Techeetah rookies have experience driving the electric racers.

Makowiecki, who drove for Porsche’s GT team in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, is a development driver for tyre supplier Michelin and has experience in the current FE cars and the next-generation of cars.

“I am very happy that Techeetah has given me the chance to try a Formula E car during the rookie test in Marrakesh,” he said.

“I’ve followed the championship from the beginning as I am interested by the new technology and strategy. The show on track is always great too.

“It will be a new experience and I can’t wait to jump in the car at Marrakesh.”

He will drive Jean-Eric Vergne’s Renault powered Techeetah, while Rossiter will be behind the wheel of Andre Lotterer’s car.

Rossiter previously tested with Venturi as he aimed for a 2017/18 race seat
