Ma to make his NIO race debut in the streets of Paris

Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua has been announced as part of NIO’s lineup for the upcoming Paris ePrix He is back at the wheel of a Formula E car, after participating in Season 2 and Season3 races.

Just before the start of Season 4, NIO announced Ma as their Reserve Driver. The Shanghai native has attended many races with the Chinese outfit, since then.

Today, the team has announced it will be Ma who will take the wheel of the #68 car, teaming up with Oliver Turvey, in the streets of Paris, a track that saw him debut in the series two years ago.

As NIO’s Reserve Driver, Ma has been getting a strong preparation on the simulator; a preparation which has intensified ahead of his Formula E comeback in less than two weeks time.

“I am really happy and honoured to be back in the cockpit racing for NIO Formula E Team. Thank you to NIO for this opportunity”, expressed Ma. “I am really looking forward to racing again, against some of the top drivers in the world. I will do my best to achieve the best result I can and I will see you all in Paris”.

Team Principal, Gerry Hughes, is thrilled to have Ma at the wheel of the NIO car in the Paris ePrix weekend. “The NIO Formula E Team is very happy to give Ma Qing Hua the opportunity to drive the NIO 003 at the Paris E-Prix. We look forward to welcoming him back in to the Paddock at the forthcoming event”.
