Riviere claims maiden Andros e-Trophy victory

Benjamin Riviere converted pole to victory to take his maiden Andros e-Trophy win, as Aurelien Panis reclaimed the championship lead at Lans en Vercors.

Panis, who started second, kept Riviere under pressure throughout the race, but the Santeloc driver couldn’t find a way past the pole sitter. A small mistake briefly dropped him off the back of the race leader, but Panis quickly closed the gap, bringing third placed Andreas Bakkerud with him.

Riviere held on to take the chequered flag 1.145s ahead of Panis, with Bakkerud less than a second behind.

Further back, Nico Prost spent the race in a close battle with Nathaneal Berthon and team-mate Jean-Baptiste Dubourg.

Berthon immedietly challenged Prost off the line, almost running into the side of the Renault in the opening laps. Prost was initially able to hold on, but Berthon found a way past to take fourth.

As the pair battled, Dubourg was brought into the fight. Dubourg, who had a difficult Super Pole session, made a move up the inside of his team-mate, forcing Prost wide.

He finished fifth, putting him just four points behind Panis in the championship standings, while Prost ended the race in the snowbank on the final lap.

Yann Ehrlacher held off Olivier Panis to win the second final of the day.

The pair stormed past pole sitter Franck Lagorce and immedietly began to gap the field.

Panis pushed hard, leaning on Ehrlacher on a number of occasions, but the Yvan Muller Racing driver was able to keep him at bay to take the win.

Quentin Giordano also passed Lagorce early on, though Lagorce was able to fight back. The pair touched as the pole sitter tried to reclaim the position, but Lagorce ultimately fell back behind Olivier Pernaut.

As Pernaut battled Lagorce, Giordano pulled away to take third, a distant 10 seconds behind Panis in second.

Lagorce was able to reclaim the position in the closing stages of the race, finishing fourth ahead of Pernaut and Christophe Ferrier.
