Rome to stay on the Formula E Calendar until 2025

Formula E has signed an agreement with Rome City Council which will see the series racing in the Italian capital until 2025. 

The Circuito Cittadino dell’EUR has played host to the series since 2018 and has quickly become a favourite among fans and drivers. The circuit is mostly fast and flowing, and undulates as it winds through Rome’s streets.

The agreement is still subject to the FIA’s World Motorsport Council which is scheduled to convene in June. 

Jaguar’s Mitch Evans claimed victory in the last Formula E race to take place in Rome, enjoying a race-long battle with Andre Lotterer before the Kiwi came out on top.

“Rome is once again a key reference for Formula E and remains a key attraction for big events. When we exit the health emergency, we will need to come back much stronger than ever before,” said Virginia Raggi, the Mayor of Rome.

“Our city is ready for this challenge and the Italian capital will be the symbol of the series until 2025. This agreement will bring many investments in urban areas and make our collaboration much stronger. This is a contract that will offer Romans many benefits, which will help with starting again. Our city is very proud to be hosting the E-Prix – a sporting event pioneering sustainable ideas and innovative technologies.”
