De Angelis and Granado lead the standings at the San Marino free practices

After almost two months without competition, San Marino hosts the Moto E Championship’s resumption. During Friday’s free practice sessions, de Angelis and Granado led the way.

The first free practice session was led by Alex de Angelis, with a time of 1:44.628 seconds. The OCTO Pramac driver had a lap 25 hundredths of a second faster than Mattia Casadei of Ongetta Squadracorse and Matteo Ferrari of Trentino Gresini. Eric Granado and Dominique Aegerter, from the Avintia Esponsorama and Dynavolt Interactc Team respectively, completed the top five positions.

Within just 5 tenths of a second, Xavier Simeon of the LCR E-Team, Mike di Meglio of EG Marc VDS, Niki Tuuli with his Avant Ajo MotoE, Jordi Torres of Pons Racing and Lukas Tulovic of Tech 3 E-Racing, completed the first ten positions.

The second free practice session was led by Brazil’s Granado with a time of 1:43.990 seconds. Ferrari, de Angelis, Aegerter, and Casadei were located, as in FP1, in the first five positions. The first ten positions were closed by Tuuli, di Meglio, Simeon, the LCR E-Team driver Niccolo Canepa and Torres.

For Saturday’s qualifying session, Aegerter is likely to try to position himself as high in the standings as possible to continue stretching the 11-point lead he maintains over Spanish driver Torres. Only ten points are between the second place in the championship, occupied by Torres, and sixth place.
