Torres clinches E-Pole at Le Mans

Jordi Torres claimed pole position ahead of the French Grand Prix. The Spaniard will start from the front row alongisde Matteo Ferrari and Mike di Meglio. 

Having set a lap time of 1m43.843 seconds, Torres clinched today’s E-Pole ahead of championship leader Ferrari, who tops the standings with a total of 86 points. 

Yesterday’s fastest man di Meglio will also start from the front row. 

Dominique Aegerter, who closely follows Ferrari on the fight for the title with just a four-point gap between them, will start from the fifth position. Australia’s Josh Hook will start from P4, while Niccolo Canepa completes the second row starting from P6.

Alejandro Medina was today’s big surprise, having topped the standings for several minutes and achieving a third-row start from P7. He was able to qualify ahead of drivers such as Granado or Casadei –who fell off his bike in today’s session, who are higher in the standings and have been able to clinch victories during the season.
