Dubourg takes the win in Lans en Vercors’ opening race

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg led a DA Racing 1-2 in the opening race of the weekend at Lans en Vercors.

Dubourg was unchallenged throughout the five lap race and finished a comfortable 3.8s ahead of team-mate Nico Prost.

Prost started from third on grid, but got the jump on front row started Yann Ehrlacher to squeeze past into second.

Ehrlacher was left with damage to the rear bodywork which became completely detatched during a battle with Aurelien Panis. The Dupessey driver held onto the position, though was kept under pressure from Panis at every corner.

Ehrlacher eventually managed to escape when Nathaneal Berthon tried to dive down the inside of Panis and instead turned the reigning champion around. As Panis and Berthon attempted to detangle themselves, Ehrlacher escaped up the road to finish some five seconds ahead of the pair.

He and Prost end the day having taken an equal amount of points, though Prost’s Super Final results put him ahead for the day.

Panis came home fourth, ahead of Berthon and Riviere.

Dubourg’s lead at the top of the championship standings now lies at 36 points, while Ehrlacher jumps up to second ahead of Panis.

Olivier Pernaut took victory in the second of the two finals after a crash on the line left Enzo Ide, Quentin Giordano and Louis Gervoson some 30s behind the race leader.

Franck Lagorce finished second in the race, ahead of Giordano and Ide.
