Dubourg closes in on title with Val Thorens win

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg closes in on the 2021 Andros eTrophy title with another victory in the first of three races at Val Thornes this weekend.

Dubourg started from pole and held off Aurelien Panis to take the victory, earning an additional point for fastest lap in the process.

The win puts him 36 points ahead of Yann Ehrlacher with just two races remaining.

Ehrlacher came home fourth. Third-placed Olivier Pernaut got a good getaway and Ehrlacher couldn’t stick with him. Instead, the Dupessey driver was stuck defending against Benjamin Riviere.

Riviere was within striking distance by the end of the race and tried to get his nose ahead but Ehrlacher kept the door shut. Riviere slowed on the final lap, allowing Nathaneal Berthon to come through and snatch P5.

In the second final, Nico Prost led from start to finish, allowing him to retain fifth in the championship standings.

Julien Febreau held off Sebastien Loeb to take second.
