Porsche retains Wehrlein and Lotterer for Season 8

Porsche have confirmed that Andre Lotterer and Pascal Wehrlein will remain in the team for Season 8.

With a total of three podium finishes, Porsche will go into their third season in Formula E looking for their long-awaited win and positioning themselves as a leading team.

For their Season 8 effort, the team have maintained Lotterer and Wehrlein in the line-up.

This will be Lotterer’s fifth season in Formula E. The German is yet to win a race but has been on the podium on seven occasions throughout both his Techeetah and Porsche years. He mentioned that “Despite some notable successes this season, we are yet to achieve all of our goals. That makes me all the more pleased that Porsche is giving me the chance to contribute to the further development of the team beyond the current season”.

Wehrlein joined the fully-electric series in Season 5 and already knows what it is like to be on the podium, but like his teammate, expects to know how a win tastes like in this new season he is entering with Porsche. “We achieved a lot in our first season together and have firmly established ourselves in Formula E. I’m very happy that I can be a part of this great team in the future”, he commented.

Amiel Lindesay, head of operations for Porsche in Formula E, commented that “We’ve made enormous progress as a team this season. Andre and Pascal have made a significant contribution to this positive development”.

With just two races to go, Porsche sits in eighth place in the Teams Championship.
