Dubourg victorious at Lans en Vercors

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg converted pole position into victory in a dramatic opening Andros eTrophy race at Lans en Vercors.

The Super Final was red flagged after two laps due to a three-car pile up involving fellow DA Racing run driver Pierre-Louis Loubet.

The race restarted from the grid, giving Aurelien Panis a second opportunity to dive past Dubourg at the start, but Dubourg got the better start of the two. By the end of the opening lap of the restart, Dubourg had a considerable gap to the rest of the field which he continued to build on over the course of the race.

He finished 2.5s ahead of Panis, who himself had a 3.5 gap back to Nico Prost in third.

Dorian Boccolacci got a great start on the initial start and was ahead of Loubet and Jeremy Sarhy when he turned in too hard at a corner. The two drivers behind him ran into Boccolacci and couldn’t get detached while the race was underway.

Dubourg and the rest of the field narrowly avoided the stranded cars when they came back around, and the race was red flagged for the cars to be separated.

On the restart, Loubet got a better start than his initial launch and, despite body work damage, held off Yann Ehrlacher to take P4.

Ehrlacher held off Boccolacci to take fifth while Sarhy completed the order.

In the Final, Nathaneal Berthon dominated proceedings. He was untouchable throughout the race and finished more than seven seconds down the road to Olivier Pernaut in second. Pernaut himself had a quiet race after passing Bertrand Balas on the opening lap. Balas spent the rest of the race defending hard against Nicolas Baert but managed to hold him off to take third.

Panis retains the lead at the top of the standings ahead of Ehrlacher, but Dubourg closes in to just 22 points behind.
