De Vries tops the timesheets in Monaco

Nyck de Vries set the pace for Mercedes during opening practice session for the Monaco E-Prix.

The Dutch driver set a 1:31.154 to go quickest on a cloudy morning in the Principality, just over a tenth of a second faster than Nick Cassidy in the Envision Racing entry.

Edoardo Mortara was third in the Venturi, this being the team’s home race, with Antonio Felix da Costa and Sebastien Buemi rounding out the top five for DS Techeetah and Nissan respectively.

Andre Lotterer was sixth quickest in the Porsche, ahead of Jaguar’s Sam Bird and Jean-Eric Vergne in the other DS Techeetah.

The top ten was rounded out by Andretti’s Jake Dennis and Mitch Evans in the other Jaguar.
