Di Grassi leads Mortara in Berlin practice

Lucas Di Grassi set the pace on the reverse Tempelhof circuit ahead of qualifying for the Berlin E-Prix.

The field enjoyed two relatively clean free practice sessions as they got to grips with the reverse circuit.

Race winner Edoardo Mortara picked up where he left off in FP1, but the 1m06.373s lap was quickly bettered in FP2.

Alexander Sims set the pace in the early stages of FP2 before drivers started their 250kW laps. Robin Frijns, Oliver Rowland, and Stoffel Vandoorne all took turns at the top of the order before Di Grassi lowered the benchmark again.

The Venturi driver managed a 1m06.133s lap to put him top of the order. Team-mate Mortara jumped up to second, 0.153s back.

Jean-Eric Vergne managed seventh ahead of Frijns, Oliver Turvey and Antonio Felix Da Costa.

After setting the pace early on, Sims wouldn’t set a 250kW flying lap, finishing the session P13.

Andre Lotterer, who had been just 0.057s behind Mortara in FP1, wouldn’t be able to recreate that performance in the second practice session. He finished P12 with a time slower than his FP1 lap.
