Bethonie WaringEdoardo Mortara makes it two from two as he claims pole for the second Berlin E-Prix.
The Venturi driver was the only driver to set a time sub 1m06s around the reverse Tempelhof circuit, with his quickest time of qualifying a 1m05.897s.
Mortara topped the second group in the first part of the duels, lapping more than 0.3s quicker than second placed Nyck de Vries. Antonio Felix Da Costa and Andre Lotterer also made it through from Group B, with Lotterer continuing his 100% duel streak so far.
Jean-Eric Vergne, who lies second in the championship standings, was only fifth quickest, and missed out on a spot in the duels by 0.07s.
Mortara went up against Nick Cassidy in his quarter final, beating the Envision driver by 0.267s. His semi-final rival was reigning champion Nyck de Vries. Despite tapping a wall and tearing of advertising material, Mortara got the better lap, setting his quickest lap of the session to progress to the finals.
Robin Frijns joined him in the finals. The Envision driver had been second quickest in Group A, behind championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne. He beat Da Costa in the quarter finals and Lotterer in the semis, despite a deep moment at turn five costing Frijns a chunk of time.
Frijns set his time first, managing a 1m06.470s lap. Mortara went almost half a second quicker with a 1m05.972s lap to take his second Formula E pole position.
Frijns joins him on the front row of the grid ahead of De Vries and Lotterer.
Da Costa was the fastest of those out in the quarter finals and lines up fifth ahead of Lucas Di Grassi and Vandoorne, who made an error on his lap.
Cassidy was second quickest and should have placed sixth, but recieves an 80 place grid penalty for changing multiple parts of his car, including MGU and gearbox. He will start from the back of the grid.
Of those who didn’t make it through to the duels, Vergne will start first, lining up in P8 ahead of Mitch Evans and Oliver Rowland.
