Sette Camara fastest in opening London practice

Sergio Sette Camara topped the times for Dragon Racing in the opening Formula E free practice in London.

Sette Camara jumped to the top of the order late in the session with a time of 1m14.487s.

The lap knocked championship contender Mitch Evans off the top spot, betting the Jaguar driver’s time by 0.172s.

It was a relatively quiet opening session at the London Excel centre, which will host two E-Prix this weekend.

Nyck de Vries topped the order early on before Pascal Wehrlein managed a time of 1m15.050s.

Evans and Sette Camara then lowered the benchmark further.

Sette Camara’s Dragon team-mate Antonio Giovinazzi enjoyed one of his best performances in a Forula E session, going fourth quickest and less than a tenth slower than Nick Cassidy in P3.

De Vries dropped back to fifth by the chequered flag, ahead of Sebastien Buemi and Wehrlein.

Stoffel Vandoorne, who comes into the weekend top of the championship standings, finished the session eighth overall, with Sam Bird and Antonio Felix Da Costa rounding out the top 10.

Other than the Full Course Yellow test the only incident was a mistake for Edoardo Mortara at the very end of the session. A strange mistake at turn one sent the Venturi driver into the run off area, though he managed to avoid the barriers.
