Cassidy fastest in final practice in London

Nick Cassidy set the fastest lap in the final practice session ahead of the second London E-Prix this afternoon.

The Kiwi, driving for Envision Racing, set a 1:12.933 on a humid morning in London.

Antonio Felix Da Costa was second quickest for DS Techeetah, who had been struggling all weekend prior to this morning for pace.

Robin Frijns was third in the other Envision Racing entry, with Sergio Sette Camara and Jake Dennis, who won yesterday’s race, rounding out the top five.

Pascal Wehrlein was sixth fastest for Porsche, ahead of Stoffel Vandoorne, who still leads the championship, and Edoardo Mortara, who had slapped the tecpro barrier at the first part of the chicane with less than five minutes to go in the session. This was after getting brushed by the DS Techeetah of Jean-Eric Vergne in a rushed attempt to rejoin the circuit earlier in the lap.

The top ten was rounded out by Mahindra’s Oliver Rowland and Lucas di Grassi in the other Venturi.
