Guenther sets the pace in final free practice

Maximilian Guenther managed a 1m15.091s in the final free practice session of the 2019-20 Formula E season.

The BMW i Andretti Motorsport driver jumped to the top of the times in the closing stages of the session, setting a time that was then more than half a second quicker than the rest of the field.

As lap times continued to tumble, a number of drivers were able to get within 0.5s of Guenther’s time, but none could match it.

He ended the session 0.242s ahead of newly crowned champion Antonio Felix Da Costa, who had been top of the order earlier in the session.

It was a strong performance by Nissan e.Dams, with both drivers finishing in the top four. Oliver Rowlnd beat Sebastien Buemi by 0.054s, with Jaguar’s Mitch Evans  further 0.1s back.

Nyck De Vries took sixth ahead of Alexander Sims and Andre Lotterer.

Alex Lynn and Felipe Massa completed the top 10.
