Panis on pole for Andros opener

Aurelien Panis takes pole for the first round of the 2020-21 Andros eTrophy.

Last season’s champion was immedietly on form in Andorra, topping the first qualifying session and the Super Pole shoot out to decide the grid for the first race of the season.

Panis was one of only two drivers to set a sub 45s lap in qualifying, managing a 44.992s time in the opening session.

Renault’s Nico Prost also set a sub 45s lap – the 44.759s lap the quickest of the day – though his three lap average put him fourth overall in the session.

Panis’ Super Pole lap was slower than his earlier time, but still enough to put him top of the order.

Despite a difficult Super Pole lap, Yann Ehrlacher will start second after topping the second qualifying session.

Nathaneal Berthon takes third ahead of the Renault duo of Jean-Baptiste Dubourg and Prost.

Sebastian Loeb Racing’s Quentin Giordano completes the top six.

Audi driver Olivier Pernaut ended quaifying seventh overall and will start from the front of the second final, ahead of Benjamin Riviere, Christophe Ferrier and Franck Lagorce.
