Buemi tops second free practice session in New York

Sebastien Buemi set the quickest time in the second practice session in New York for Nissan.

The Swiss driver was the first to set a 250kw lap, and his 1:09.386 wasn’t beaten.

Maximilian Guenther was second quickest for BMW ahead of Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein.

The top five was rounded out by both of the Venturi’s, with Edoardo Mortara beating Norman Nato by just under a tenth of a second.

Nyck de Vries was sixth for Mercedes ahead of Nissan’s Oliver Rowland and Stoffel Vandoorne in the other Mercedes.

Jean-Eric Vergne was ninth for DS Techeetah despite a spin at Turn 1 earlier in the session with the top 10 being rounded out by Andre Lotterer in the other Porsche.

Sam Bird didn’t set a lap during the session as he was getting a new chassis following his accident in FP1 earlier.
