Vergne confirms himself and Da Costa at DS Techeetah for S8

Jean-Eric Vergne and Antonio Felix da Costa will remain at DS Techeetah for the upcoming Formula E season.

Vergne confirmed on social media that he and da Costa will continue at DS Techeetah for a third consecutive season as team-mates.

After back to back teams’ titles in Seasons 5 and 6, the team dropped back to third overall in the 2020-21 season, narrowly beating Audi and Virgin Racing. Da Costa and Vergne both took a win a piece last year, and finished eighth and 10^th in the championship standings respectively.

In September, amid media speculation about team investors, DS Techeetah issued a statement highlighting its success and it’s looking forward to Season 8:

“We remain fully committed to the Techeetah Formula E Team, DS Automobiles, all of our team members and business partners,” it said.

“As 3x Drivers Championship, 2x Team Champions and having earned a hard-fought 3^rd lace finish in Season 7, we are looking forward to returning to the top of the exciting Formula E World Championship next season.

“After a short summer break the Team is currently preparing for Season 8 and is excited to return to competition.

“Everyone at Techeetah is looking forward to the exciting future of Formula E and seeing you at track in Season 8.”

Testing for the upcoming season gets underway later this month for three days in Valencia between 29^th November and 2^nd December. The season begins in Saudi Arabia on the 28^th January.
