Dubourg victorious in Andros opener

JB Dubourg held off Nathaneal Berthon to win the opening Super Final of the 2021-22 Andros eTrophy.

Berthon pushed hard throughout the six lap encounter, pulling alongside Dubourg on multiple times but was unable to get his nose ahead.

The pair were separated by just 0.564s by the chequered flag, but Dubourg left no room for the SP Motorsport driver to come through.

Meanwhile, a half-spin for Oliver Panis had left the top two with a considerable gap to the rest of the field.

Panis had never been as close to Berthon as Berthon was to Dubourg, but had been close to the leaders until a mistake mid-way through the race. The spin at a tight turn briefly blocked the track, as Yann Ehrlacher made contact with him and Nico Prost joined the back of the incident.

Panis was able to get going and continued in third, just ahead of Ehrlacher, while Olivier Pernaut jumped Prost as Prost tried to recover.

It was a hard-fought scrap for fourth as Ehrlacher tried to hold off Pernaut and Prost. Prost would come through on the final lap to take the position, but Ehrlacher stayed ahead of Pernaut.

Aurelian Panis retired after the second lap.

In the Final, Dino Boccolacci held onto position to take the win ahead of Christophe Ferrier and Sylivan Pussier, making his Elite Pro debut.
