Pernaut tops qualifying for second Isola race

Olivier Pernaut takes pole position for the second of three Andros eTrophy races at Isola 2000.

Pernaut was quickest in the first qualifying session with a 2m25.762s time putting him top of the order.

The time wouldn’t be improved upon in the second qualifying session and Pernaut went into Super Pole top of the order.

The M Racing driver spent most of the Super Pole session top of the order, too, with a 49.832s lap.

However, the benchmark was lowered by Dorian Boccolacci, who was out last in the session. Boccolacci recorded a 48.781s to go top of the order and score a bonus six qualifying points.

P2 was enough to put Pernaut top of the qualifying order overal, ahead of Boccolacci and Aurelien Panis, who was quickest in the second qualifying session but struggled to find the same pace in the Super Pole.

Yann Ehrlacher briefly topped the times in the second qualifying session, only to be knocked down by Panis. Third quickest in Suer Pole puts him fourth on the grid for the Super Final, ahead of Sylvian Pussier and Jean-Baptiste Dubourg.

Florian Bernardi placed seventh at the end of qualifying, narrowly missing out on Super Pole but earning a spot in the Super Final.

Nico Prost will start from pole in the Final after finishing eighth overall, having avoided disaster in his second qualifying run when he hit the wall as he took the chequered flag.

He lines up just ahead of Pierre-Louise Loubet and Nicolas Baert.

Race one winner Nathaneal Berthon had two difficult qualifying sessions, finishing the first 13th and the second 10th. He’ll start the Final from the penultimate spot on the grid, ahead of Christophe Ferrier.
