Initially considered as the dark horse of the series, Dragon Racing surprised everyone by finishing the first season in second place in the standings and with one win in the bag. Season 2 was a clear statement that the team - owned by Jay Penske, son of American racing legend Roger Penske - was one to beat, as they took another win.
For Season 3, the team partnered with American startup Faraday Future, obtaining rather disappointing results. Ahead of Season 4, the team aimed to be fighting for the wins again, but were not able to move up the field.
The American squad retains Jose Maria "Pechito" Lopez for Season 5, with German newcomer Maximilian Guenther joining as his team-mate.
