Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Alain Prost will head a new Global Advisory Board that will steer the future direction of Formula E and its role in the wider world of electric vehicles.
Prost will chair the newly formed board, along with Christiana Figures, the architect of the Paris Climate Change Agreement, which brought the world together in an effort to tackle carbon emissions.
Big names from across motorsport are also members of the board. Reigning FE champion Lucas Di Grassi, FE CEO Alejandro Agag, Chairman of Jaguar Racing Gerd Mauser and ex-McLaren team principal Martin Whitmarsh are all members.
Chairman and CEO of SINA Charles Chao and Head of Global Sponsoring at Julius Baer Marco Paroni will also play a part in the future of FE on the board.
“Formula E is more than just a race, it’s a platform to inspire change – a change in perception, a change in attitude and behaviour, and a change in the way we live our lives and actively influence the future of our planet,” said Agag.
“It’s an honour to have names like Christiana and Alain heading up the new Global Advisory Board, alongside a strong mix of recognisable names in the field or media, marketing, business, sport and sustainability.
“I’d like to express my thanks for their participation and we hope to tap into their expertise when choosing the long-term direction of our sport.”
The FIA will keep authority over the sporting and technical regulations.
