Vergne leads the way in FP2

Jean-Eric Vergne was the driver to beat in an uninterruptedFree Practice Two in Berlin with the Techeetah driver setting the pace with a 1:09.438.

In a tightly fought session where the top 6 were separated by 2/10ths of a second, it was Felix Rosenqvist who was second fastest for Mahindra with Vergne’s teammate Andre Lotterer finishing third as the fastest of the home drivers.

Lucas di Grassi was a strong fourth for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler with the Renault e.dams of Sebastien Buemi in fifth, splitting the Audis as Daniel Abt was sixth fastest.

Dragon Racing’s Jerome d’Ambrosio put in a strong showing to finish seventh fastest ahead of Alex Lynn in the first of the DS Virgin entries.

Mitch Evans was ninth fastest for Jaguar Racing and the top 10 was completed by Lynn’s teammate, Sam Bird.

NIO’s Oliver Turvey was eleventh fastest ahead of Nick Heidfeld in the second of the two Mahindras.

Nelson Piquet Jr was thirteenth as another driver who is also doing two races in as many days, Maro Engle came home in fourteenth before he heads to Silverstone after the race weekend.

Jose Maria Lopez was fifteenth in the second of the two Dragon Racing entries ahead of Luca Filippi and Antonio Felix da Costa as the top 17 were covered by less than one second.

Rounding out the field were Nico Prost for Renault e.dams, Tom Dillmann in the second Venturi and the returning Stephan Sarrazin for MS&AD Andretti.
