Ferrari takes victory in the third round of MotoE

Matteo Ferrari won the San Marino MotoE race held at Misano circuit. Simeon and Aegerter completed the podium. 

The Italian had qualified in pole position the previous day, but due to a penalty he had been sanctioned in Andalucia, he started from fourth position. 

Casadei, who had inherited pole position, had a clean start of the race, trying to distance himself from the riders behind him. 

However, towards the end of the race, he would lose places against Xavier Simeon and Ferrari, dropping to third in the standings, to later be overtaken by Dominique Aegerter and Jordi Torres to finish fifth overall. 

With the win, Ferrari was able to move up to second place in the championship standings, while the podium finish allowed Aegerter to keep his championship lead. A 12-point gap separate the Swiss and the Italian in the standings, while Spain’s Torres is third with 43 points.
