Granado sets the pace in Austria FP1

Eric Granado picks up where he left off; tops MotoE Free Practice in Austria.

Granado took his second win of the season last time out in the Netherlands, but problems in two of the four races so far this season means he lies only third in the championship standings.

The One Energy Racing rider set the pace early in the session with a 1m37.211s lap around the Red Bull Ring, while Miquel Pons and Matteo Ferrari slotted into second and third.

Ferrari and Xavier Cardelus would briefly take the top spot as lap times improved, but it was Granado back on top by the chequered flag.

He ended the session with a 1m36.374s lap.

Ferrari had dropped down the order as others found improvements, but jumped back up to second just before the chequered flag. He was just 0.080s slower than Granado.

Dominique Aegerter took third ahead of Cardelus, Fermin Aldeguer and Yonny Hernandez.

It was a quiet session for championship contenders Alessandro Zaccone and Jordi Torres, who could only manage 11th and 7th respectively.

Lukas Tulovic, Kevin Zannoni and Pons completed the top 10.
