Tulovic victorious in Austria

Lukas Tulovic clinched his maiden win in MotoE in Austria.

The German rider had started the race from P2 and rapidly overtook poleman Fermin Aldeguer to lead the race off the line.

Eric Granado had a stellar ride, going from 13th to clinch a podium finish in second place.

Tulovic spent the early part of the race leading a hard-fought battle to defend the race lead, but was soon able to pull away as those behind him fought for position.

Granado was left to defend against Aldeguer and Dominique Aegerter, who started eighth on the grid. Aegerter found a way past Aldeguer to take third, but wouldn’t climb any higher.

Aldeguer ended in fourth place, while Hikari Okubo claimed what is his best result in the series so far finishing in fifth position.

The top 10 was completed by championship leader Alessandro Zaccone in sixth, reigning champion Jordi Torres in seventh position, Matteo Ferrari in eighth, Kevin Zannoni in ninth, and Yonny Hernandez rounding up.

Zaccone leads the championship standings with a seven-point advantage over Granado. One point behind the Brazilian comes title defender Torres, who charges up to repeat last year’s feat.
