Panis quickest in qualifying for second Isola 2000 race

Aurelien Panis tops qualifying for the second Andros eTrophy race of the weekend at Isola 2000,

The championship leader topped the opening qualifying session with a time that could not be matched in Q2.

The field ran only two laps each in Q1 and Q2. Berthon set the early pace in Q1, with a time of 1m37.374s. Panis was the only driver to go under that time. His total was 1m37.374.

Race one winner Dorian Boccolacci hit issues on his opening lap and couldn’t complete the run. He bounced back in Q2, however, and managed to go third quickest in the group.

Joining the trio in the Super Pole was Christophe Ferrier, P3 in the opening qualifying session, and Yann Ehrlacher and Jean-Baptiste Dubourg, who placed P1 and P2 in Q2.

Boccolacci was the first man out in Super Pole and set the benchmark at 49.889s. Unfortunately for the Sebastien Loeb Racing driver, the other five competitiros all found time on their lap.

Panis took P1 and pole position with a lap of 48.263s. Berthon was second quickest and leapfrogged Ehrlacher to second on the grid.

Ferrier took P3 in the session and lines up fourth on the grid ahead of Dubourg and Boccolacci.

Just outside the top six, Olivier Pernaut will start on pole for the second Final, having qualified seventh overall. Anthony Pelfrene, Yvan Muller and Jimmy Clairet completed the top 10.
