Bethonie WaringMahindra Racing has formed a strategic partnership with car design company Pininfarina as if prepares for season five.
Pininfarina, which has already collaborated with Mahindra in the past, was brought by the team’s parent company, Tech Mahindra, in 2015. The company has worked with brands including Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, and BMW in it’s long history, as well as designing interiors and exteriors of trains, busses, and planes.
The collaboration will allow Mahindra to take advantage of Pininfarina’s design and technology skills as it develops the M5Electro. The team will also have access to its new partner’s wind tunnel and testing facilities.
“We are now delighted to welcome Pininfarina as a partner of the team as we gear up to meet the challenges of this new season and beyond,” said Mahindra Group chief brand officer Ruzbeh Irani.
“Pininfarina’s legendary design and technology skills will significantly augment Mahindra Racing’s existing capabilities and raise the bar as far as our performance is concerned.”
Pininfarina will also play a part in developing Mahindra’s electric road cars.

“The partnership enhances Pininfarina’s passion for racing and exceptional environmentally responsible automotive performance.
“We also have developed a profound know how in aerodynamics: our cars have been said to be designed by the wind. We own one of the most advanced wind tunnels in the world, a centre of excellence for research and development in the aerodynamics and aero-acoustics field since 1972.”
Mahindra is currently top of the teams’ standings after three races, with driver Felix Rosenqvist top of the drivers’ championship.
