Dillmann to replace Mortara for Berlin ePrix

Tom Dillmann will replace Edoardo Mortara at Venturi for the upcoming Berlin ePrix.

Mortara is unable to race in the all-electric series as he has DTM commitments at the Lausitzring where he will drive for Mercedes.

Dillmann has previously raced in Formula E for the Venturi team on seven occasions, picking up a best result of seventh in the second New York ePrix in Season 3.

He has a best grid position of seventh when he qualified for the second Montreal ePrix – also in Season 3.

Dillmann has also been testing for Venturi in the manufacturer tests for the new Gen2 car at Monteblanco and Calafat. The car will be used from Season 5.

Dillmann will once again race alongside Maro Engel at Venturi. The pair raced together in Season 3 for the Monegasque squad.

Gildo Pastor, president of Venturi Formula E, said: “I’m delighted to be able to count on Tom once again. He has an amazing capacity to adapt and is also excellent at fine-tuning. I’m convinced he’ll be up to the task.”

It is not yet known whether Mortara will be competing in the New York ePrixs with Venturi as the season finale double-header clashes with DTM again, this time at Zandvoort.
