Piquet Jr.: “Physically I can do both races”

After a complicated Paris ePrix, Nelson Piquet Jr. is back in the hunt for good results in Berlin. But the Berlin ePrix is not the only race the Brazilian will do this weekend, as he attempts to make it to the Brazilian Stock Car race to take place on Sunday.

Racing at two different circuits on the same weekend is an occurrence which is getting rarer although some driver still do it when the circuits are quite close.

However, Nelson Piquet Jr is attempting to race both in Berlin tomorrow and on Sunday, over 11,000km away in the Brazilian Stock Car championship at Santa Cruz do Sul.

When asked by Just-Electric.org as to what the motivation for competing at both circuits was, Piquet said: “Physically, I can do it so, it’s not going to be ideal to rush and get there and lose qualifying and just do warm up and the race. But, if there’s a chance to do it, I’m gonna try to do it.

“It’s a shame that this race got delayed into a later race otherwise it would have been much easier but it’s still possible and I’m still gonna try to do it.”

He also mentioned about how he was going to deal with the jet lag by saying: “Sleeping pills!”.

The Season 1 champion is currently seventh in the standings, but aims to get over his bad luck steak which has caused him to retire in the last three races.
