Formula E announces #PositivelyCharged aims

In an official statement launched on the official Formula E Twitter account, the series announced its comeback, alongside the renewal of its partnership with UNICEF.

After a six-month hiatus due to the worldwide coronavirus crisis, Formula E will go back to action in August with a six-race stint in Berlin. To announce its comeback, the fully-electric championship posted a statement signed by founder Alejandro Agag and CEO Jamie Reigle as a ‘welcome back’ message.

The statement reaffirms Formula E’s compromise with the environment, racing for a cleaner landscape by developing the vehicles to help in such an important task. “[We are] united not just in our passion to deliver edge-of-seat racing, but in our commitment to deliver a better future through racing”, the letter reads.

The partnership with UNICEF will continue as on-track racing comes back. It was initially signed during the Race at Home Challenge Formula E held during Europe’s lockdown to COVID-19 outbreak. Said partnership aims to create more inclusive environment for young populations at risk which UNICEF works with.

Agag and Reigle also announce the launch of a programme named ‘Positive Futures’, aimed to enhance the diversity within the sport and giving under-represented groups new opportunities.

The letter finishes with an acknowledgement to all the parts involved in Formula E, ranging from teams to fans, and all those who make the sport possible.
