Dubourg claims pole in penultimate qualifying

Jean-Baptiste Dubourg adds another pole position to his score sheet ahead of the penultimate race of the 2020-21 Andros eTrophy championship.

Dubourg topped both qualifying sessions, eventually lowering the benchmark to 1m31.701s for two laps.

Nathaneal Berthon pipped him to the top spot in the Super Pole shoot out, but Berthon’s struggle in the earlier qualifying sessions means Dubourg will start from pole.

Benjamine Riviere continues his consistent performance with P2 in qualifying. The Peugeot driver spent most of Q1 top of the order before Dubourg set his lap and he was bumped down to P2. The same thing would happen in the second of the two qualifying sessions.

Riviere wouldn’t be able tokeep up the pace in the Super Pole session, finishing fifth of six drivers, but it was enough to place him P2.

Berthon, Olivier Pernaut and Aurelien Panis all end qualifying having taken 43 points each.

Panis was third quickest in the quicker of the two qualifying sessions, as well as in the Super Pole shoot out, and will start from P3 on the grid.

Berthon’s impressive performance in Super Pole puts him fourth, ahead of Pernaut and Enzo Ide.

Visibility was difficult in the qualifying sessions and there was a large gap in the times of those who got to grips with the conditions quickly and those who didn’t.

Nico Prost and Yann Ehrlacher, who was in the top four in the opening race of the weekend, were two of those caught out, and ended qualifying seventh and eighth respectively.

Juilen Febreau and Christophe Ferrier completed the top 10.
